Sports & Recreation Facilities
Holwell has a large Recreation ground with Football and Cricket Pitch, together with the Holwell Bowls Club. This is maintained overall by Holwell Parish Council.
Holwell, itself, sadly no longer has its own cricket club, but the facilities are used regularly by Ickleford Cricket Club as its second ground.
The football pitch is used during the season by Hitchin Town Harriers.

Cricket

Holwell Bowls Club is long established and is based at the John Rand Recreation Ground off Holwell Road.
Swimming
Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre offers a new approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle for people of all fitness levels with friendly, professional and fully qualified staff.
It has indoor and outdoor pools, offering an opportunity to swim all year round, whatever the weather.
This facility is run by Everyone Active and is on Fishponds Road, Hitchin SG5 1HA.
